Free Consultation

I meet with my potential clients, free of charge, to answer any and all questions and for us to determine if we are a good fit for each other.

Phone & Email Support

From the moment that you hire me as your doula, I am available to you 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to answer any questions or discuss any concerns.

A minimum of 2 Prenatal Visits

I will meet with you and your partner at least twice before labor to become acquainted with you; explore and discuss your priorities and any fears or concerns; present evidence-based information on the risks and benefits of common interventions and procedures used during child birth; discuss your birth plans; and plan how we might best work together.

Professional Information

I will provide you with evidence based information to empower you to make educated decisions about your care and the care of your baby before, during and immediately after birth.

During labor

I prefer that you call me when you think you are in labor, even if you do not yet need me. I can answer questions and make suggestions over the phone, and we can decide if I should come to you then, or wait for further change. We will also decide where to meet (home or hospital). Except for extraordinary circumstances, I will remain with you throughout your labor, birth and immediately after.

As a Doula, I Do Not:

Perform any clinical tasks

Such as taking blood pressure, fetal heart checks or vaginal exams. I am there to provide only physical comfort and emotional support and facilitate communication between you and the staff.

Make decisions for you

I will help you obtain the information you need to make an informed decision. I will also remind you if there is a departure from your birth plan.

Baby’s first feeding Support

I can provide you with assistance, guidance and support during your first breastfeeding session if you are choosing to nurse your child.

Postpartum follow-up visit

I will schedule a follow-up meeting within a few weeks of birth to visit you and the baby, review the birth, and get feedback from you about my role.

Community Referrals

I will provide you with a list of local resources that range widely from good places to find maternity clothes, to a listing of OBGYNs', mommy support groups, and everything in-between.

Speak to the staff on your behalf

I will discuss your concerns with you and suggest options, as well as encourage you to voice your opinions , questions and concerns to the staff.

Project any of my own beliefs onto your experience

From the moment we first meet, I am a completely blank canvas. I recognize and honor the fact that every woman's (and/or couple's) idea of an ideal birth experience can vary drastically. It is for this reason that I keep a completely open mind to all of your wishes, opinions, and ideas from day one.
